Introduction

I have recently taken up the hobby of fanediting, and was inspired to provide a place to view and discuss my projects, much like tmbtm has done.  I hope anyone visiting this blog enjoys what I have put together.

Doctor Doom

I recently stumbled across a fan film entitled "Von Doom" by Lucky9Studios, directed by Ivan Kander.  I liked what they were able to do, and it made me curious about what it would look like if I pieced it together with the Dr. Doom storylines from the Fox Fantastic Four films.  I've tried to piece them together in a somewhat logical way, though there are obvious things that don't match up (accents, magic use, etc.) but I hope you guys can enjoy it nonetheless.

I did this one fairly quickly, and I didn't use high quality copies with multiple channels, but I did want to change the music and give the film a darker tone, with more tension.  I am a huge of fan of the soundtrack from the TV show 'Dark', so I used mostly music from that show, or some Hans Zimmer.

There is a post-credits scene, which I have to thank Marvel Ultimate Alliance for.

You can watch the original "Von Doom" fan film on YouTube or at this site:

007 - No Good Deed ("The Rock" re-imagined as a Bond film)

If the video isn't playing here, you can click the Mega link at the bottom.

The parallels between Connery's character in "The Rock" and James Bond didn't escape anyone, and I really wanted to see what the film would be like reimagined as such.

This was a project that I was inspired to do by the fanediting community. After reading some of the various Reddit threads, I loved the idea of Director Womack being Felix Leiter who had betrayed Bond. Shout outs to Spackleberry and Timbo85 on Reddit who both brought the idea to my attention.

I have combined parts of several of Connery's Bond films to create a lose thread of Bond being in the US for a mission, but then he is redirected by M once J.Edgar Hoover dies; I used scenes from the film "J. Edgar" to fill in those components.  Bond breaks in and steals the contents of the safe and escapes to Las Vegas where government agents are waiting for him.  He then begins his incarceration at Alcatraz and the film jumps ahead 30 years after the credits.

I chose title, as both Bond and Hummel have received only suffering for their "good deeds". I hope some people enjoy it, as I really like seeing the car chase with Bond music.  I also love that Bond says "Well of course you are.", both in Las Vegas and when Goodspeed enters the interrogation room.  I thought about adding in the underwater fight scene from Thunderball at the beginning too, so that when Connery says "In my day, we did it all with a snorkel and a pair of flippers." it hits home...maybe in version 2.0. Let me know what you think.

Man Thing - The MCU Cut

I like to play MCOC (Marvel Contest of Champions) and the recent event with Man Thing inspired me to take a crack at this movie again. I had watched it as part of my plan to make a Midnight Sons movie, but after watching the Swamp Thing series, I wanted to re-cut this movie to refocus it on the original origin of Man Thing, Ted Sallis, who was a scientist researching in the swamp when he was betrayed by his partners. Yes, it's ridiculous how similar the origin is to Swamp Thing, but it also made it somewhat easy to translate it from the show to this film.

The 2005 film had changed him to Native American chief for some reason, so I removed those references.  I have added in a new origin series and credit sequence from Swamp Thing, and a lot of the soundtrack of that series as well. I also threw in a couple of post-credits scenes to make it more MCU-esque... Legion of Monsters!

Spiderman vs Venom

I imagine that I wasn't alone in hoping that the Venom film would contain Spiderman, even with some of the newer changes to the symbiote's history in the comics, I have always felt like the two are very closely tied together.  That's why I wanted to make a version with both of them together, and so I have cut the new Venom film together with several of the Spiderman films.

I primarily used Homecoming for the storyline, and added in scenes from Spiderman 3, and the Amazing Spiderman series when necessary.  It requires some suspension of disbelief, and don't pay too much attention to the details if you want to enjoy it I think, I only had what exists to work with.  It's just for fun anyways.

I also must give thanks to the people at VS Gag on Youtube, who put together a pretty good fight scene between Spiderman and Venom, which I have also used.  Check out their channel.

This is my second draft, and I think I have corrected most poor cuts and removed all inconsistent references.

Hope you enjoy!

Deadpool - The Whole Shebang!

This was just a quick project to piece together the various films which include Deadpool, starting from X-Men Origins: Wolverine, through to the recently released Deadpool 2.  Don't worry, the double entendre of the title wasn't lost on me!  The two films are linked by the "No Good Deed" promotional short that came out between the two films.

I have taken the opening from XO:W with Ryan Reynolds and pieced it at the beginning. Then, I placed the final part of that film in conjunction with the post credits scene from Deadpool 2 when he "Corrects the timeline" to make it a bit clearer what was happening to those who may not have seen the films.

For Deadpool 2, I used the Super Duper Cut, but I just felt that some of the jokes and music from the theatrical cut worked better, and I have replaced those scenes based on the version I enjoyed most.  This includes "Scoutmaster Kevin, 9 to 5 music, the rape whistle joke, hip hop as they charge Juggy" to name a few. Hope you enjoy.

Ghost Rider - The Marvel Cut

With renewed interest in Ghost Rider as a result of Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., I wanted to revisit the films. I wanted to re-imagine them more in line with the MCU, with the obligatory Post-Credits scene, and Stan Lee cameo. There is also a cameo by the creator of Ghost Rider, Gary Friedrich, see if you can spot it.
As this was my first fanedit, I didn't keep a change log, but basically here are the major changes..
-Re-cut all exposition into flashback scenes.
-Color-corrected and darkened the overall visual tone (maybe too much).
-Added reverb to Wes Bentley's voice to make it more 'demon-like', as he wasn't very intimidating.
-Cut out most of the stupid jokes...Good-bye magic eightball!
-Added some swearing, to make it more adult. This is a story about servants of hell
-Attempted to add gravity to the death of his best friend by adding in a shot of his corpse, but not sure how effective it was.

Overall, this movie is still not great. It was tonally all over the place, but hopefully you will enjoy this cut more than the original.
